Another Fish Tale From Royce Simmons
I realize you get a lot of e-mails and fishing info from us, but yesterday afternoon's trips were just to good to keep a secret!!! After canceling the morning trips due to the COLD and WIND, the weather man gave us a break and the afternoon turned out to be a PERFECT DAY! Heavy Cloud Cover, a Light Breeze and Cool temperatures had the BIG FISH on an AWESOME BITE! Adam's threesome left the Marina about 45 minutes ahead of us and barely exited the Marina Cove before they had their first three fish....all BIG HYBRID STRIPERS! Birds were working, the fish were aggressive and his Customers (Jud Waldrip, his Son and Daughter In Law) had about 40 White Bass and several Hybrids before we joined them. My Customers (Joe and Chris Reedy and Chris' friend Conner) are regular Wintertime Customers as Chris plays baseball and can't fish much in the Spring and Summer. Plus, they just like the Winter fishing because no one else is on the lake and the fish are always Bigger!
Too make a long story short, Adam's folks had an easy 75 fish White Bass limit, 9 Monster Hybrids and a lot of Catch and Release. Joe and the Boys caught and caught and caught some more and we kept about 50 Whites for Dinner, threw back around 10 Hybrids, and had a great story to end the day. Both boys hooked into BIG Hybrids at the same time (See Picture). Their lines got wrapped up and we had to land one fish at a time, but after about a 5 minute battle, both fish were landed, pictures taken and the fish released to fight again! Not sure how big they were, but I imagine when the Boys got home, they weighed at least 10 lbs. in their story of the account! :)
Not every trip is like yesterday, but many Winter time trips are the ones that result in Fish Tales and great memories!
If you want to get in on this action, we've got openings on Tuesday, Friday & Saturday of this week. Give us a call and Let's Go Catchin'!
