After two successful years of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic on Lake Fork, the 2009 event will be moved to Lake Conroe. The event will take place on Memorial Day weekend from May 22nd-24th. Last year, the $250,000 champions’ prize was awarded to the winning team of Kelly Jordon, Lance Vick, David Smith and David Walker. The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department was given $250,000. This money is used for youth fishing and outreach programs which help expose kids to fishing and conservation. In 2008, over 30,000 people attended the event at Lake Fork. Country music star Trace Adkins was the headline performer and he was joined by Robert Earl Keen, Kacey Musgraves and Roger Creager. The slot limit will also apply at Lake Conroe in the 2009 event as it did on the previous years Lake Fork events.
